Random Image of the Week #216: May 2023 Allen, Texas Hail Storm

This week’s random image was taken from the cellphone of the May 2023 Allen, Texas hail storm. I snapped a couple of pictures and video of the storm.

May 2023 Allen, Texas Hail Storm

This storm produced golf ball-sized hail and was larger for close to 20 minutes at my location.  We sat and watch the storm come down from the safety of the front alcove and front windows of the building we were in.

At its strongest, the hail was so thick you couldn’t see 10 feet in front of you.

To show you just how bad it was, I’ve decided to share a short video along with a random picture. Next week, I will post an aftermath picture.

About the Image and Video

The image and video was shot on my old Samsung Galaxy Note 8. The Images were edited using  The image was edited with Adobe Lightroom CC, Topaz Labs Denoise AI and Topaz Labs Sharpen AIAurora HDR (no longer available but still a great product), and Luminiar Neo to clean up the image.
