I was out doing some exploring in downtown Greenville, Texas, and was trying to get a good shot of the recent work done on the Cadillac Hotel when I stumbled on this old building. It’s not abandoned. It looks like it’s being used for storage or a business that is not open to the public. What caught my eye is the old storefront looks like it really hasn’t changed much since it was built.

Old Storefront  – History

The old storefront looks like most old storefronts found in any downtown area in any town in the USA. What’s different about his one is that it’s off a quiet street and it hasn’t changed much over the years. Many of these buildings that were off quiet and back streets near downtown areas typically get refaced or even torn down for a new building that meets the new owner’s needs.

According to public records the building was built in 1942 and only shows the current owners of the property. I haven’t found any other information about the building. The vintage sign above the building faded out but I can tell that it was an appliance repair shop or A/C HVAC service. The storefront may have displayed appliances and was opened to the public.

About the Images

I used my Sony a6000 and my Sony SELP18105G E PZ 18-105mm F4 G OSS lens. The images were then edited with Adobe Lightroom CC, Topaz Labs Denoise AI and Topaz Labs Sharpen AIAurora HDR (no longer available but still a great product),, and Luminiar Neo to clean up the images.
