During one of my explores I was passing through downtown Terry, Mississippi and thought the downtown area was interesting and worth a couple quick shots before heading to my next location.
Terry, Mississippi
Terry, Mississippi is small town about 15 miles south of Jackson Mississippi. The area was settled in 1811 and was established in 1867 when the railroad passed through the area.
Although Terry is so close to Jackson, it still has that small town feel. According to the 2010 Census, Terry had a population of about 1,000. Today I believe the town has grown.
City of Terry government has done a great job at preserving downtown. Many of the old row buildings are still standing. An old gas station was restored, the old train depot was restored, and there is on hotel or boarding house that looks like someone has plans to restore the building.
About the Images
The images were shot late afternoon as the storms were rolling in. I had some issues getting some of the images to stay in focus and cloud exposure. I was able to fix some of the issues in post. I used my Sony a6000 using my Sony SELP18105G E PZ 18-105mm F4 G OSS. I then edited the images with Adobe Lightroom CC and Topaz Labs Denoise AI and Topaz Labs Sharpen AI and DXO NIK Collection
