As a consultant, travel photographer, or on vacation I may end up spending a lot of time in the car, and that ends up costing money. I will be the first to admit that it gets great gas mileage when I keep my foot off the gas. Wouldn’t it be great if there was a tool that could link your smartphone to your car’s computer so you know everything your car’s computer knows?
What is Automatic?

Automatic works only in the United States works with gasoline engine car sold in the U.S. since 1996. Check to see if your car is compatible here.
What Does Automatic Do?
“Automatic helps you make small changes in your driving habits that can lead to huge savings on gas over time. Automatic is your auto assistant. It learns about your driving style and gives you subtle audio cues when you do things that waste gas, like:”
- Rough Braking
- Speeding
- Rapid Acceleration
There is even a crash alert currently in beta.
With all this information, you can use it to increase your gas mileage.
Final Thoughts
Although I haven’t gotten my hands on this new tool, everything I have been reading impresses me and I want to try it out. This looks like a great tool that will help anyone save money while driving.
