Recently my old Yurbuds Wireless Headset started giving me issues. First it was the battery life shortened by an hour or two. Then the earbuds fell apart at the seems. I was easily able to put it back together. But it would fall apart every time pulled the power cord from the port. But the final straw was when the battery dropped to less than hour between charges. After that I decided it was time to find another pair. During my search I found out that Anker had a new set of wireless headsets on the market. Since almost all of their products have great reviews and respect and I consider them a trusted brand I decided to purchase a set of the Anker Soundbuds Slim Wireless Headphones.
Anker SoundBuds Slim Wireless Headphones – Features
The Anker SoundBuds Slim Wireless Headphones are not your standard budget wireless headphones that you can pick up from Amazon. Anker has designed and released another set of premium high end wireless headphones for the price almost anyone can afford. Their less than $30 and there’s almost always some sort of promotion on their products and you can get them at a discounted price.
Anker designed the SoundBuds Slim to be lightweight earbuds that are resistant to sweat and rain but still deliver a crisp, clear music with a skip-free connection for those with an active lifestyle for anyone and any sized ear.
As the name says, its a slimmed downed and light weight (15g) high performance headset that have magnetic ends that can attach to each other so they can hang around your neck and not fall off.
Everyone’s ears are different. To help fight discomfort, Anker has provided 3 different sized ear tips and in ear hooks to provide a comfortable hold that will stay in your ears. The cable that runs from earbud to earbud is 55 cm long that just long enough to fit comfortably around your next but not long enough to tangle up. If the cable is to long you can use the “FitClip” or use the shirt clip to securely attach it to your shirt.

Anker SoundBuds Slim Wireless Headphones – Review
The Anker SoundBuds Slim Wireless Headphones came in a simple easy to open package. Inside, you get a nicely wrapped up Earbuds, short (less than a ft) Anker Micro-USB cable and a small storage pouch with flexible closure.
After the first charge I connected the headset to my LG G4 and old iPhone 4 I use for legacy testing. Both handsets connected with ease and on the first try. On both handsets I tested the sound with Spotify and Overdrive. Music is loud but there’s not a lot of base. As to audio books the sound is perfect. You can clearly hear the narrator and there isn’t a lot of outside noise if you turn it.
As to the fit, there are several different options to choose from. For me the earpads with the hooks that come attached from the factory work best for me. Those hooks really do help. I can still snag and pull them out. But its a lot harder to pull out of my ears now.
The headset is so light I forgot I was wearing them around my neck. I think I had them around my neck for hours before I realized they were attached. If it wasn’t for the magnet holding them together I would have lost them hours ago.
The inline controls are more convenient that having the controls on the buds. On my set of Yurbuds the controls were on the earbuds. They aren’t the easiest to control your music or answer an incoming call. Sometimes the earbuds would fall out if I pressed to hard on the controls. I haven’t had the chance to really test the mic and don’t put much faith in the quality sound that the other person on line will get. I have a long beard and the mic sits in it. So the sound quality could be affected. Plus other reviewer have mentioned the sound quality isn’t that good. I will test the quality at some point and update the article.
On the back of the inline controls is a micro-USB port for charging the headset. To protect the internals of the control module, there is a rubber plug that blocks it when its not in use.
The battery life is great I have only charged it once. I’ve used it for a total of 5 hours and the battery life icon on the phone says its still got about half a charge. I think icon will strop dropping quickly as I get closer to the 7 hour mark. I should also note that I mostly use the headphones to listen to audio books. My next test is to see how long I can get the battery to last listening to music.
Final Thoughts
I love these wireless buds. They don’t feel cheap and they work great for working out. I’m not a big fan of the pouch. Its a little small and may over time cause a kink in the lines. Because of its size, you have to wrap it around itself and if you do it wrong, it puts stress on the cord.
These won’t have the sound quality of a $100+ set of wireless earbuds but they are one of the best budget earbuds on the market. You can’t go wrong with a set of these. These look pretty good – a decent option for a travel maybe or where there is a risk of damage to a more expensive set.. Might have to get a listen to these for myself, nice review!
