Day 5 of the 5 Day Black and White Photo Challenge: Grounded–Abandoned Prop Planes

On one my road trips to Paris, Texas was to visit and explore the Abandoned 404 Martin Passenger Plane that is sitting in the old abandoned air field at the closed Flying Tiger Airport and surrounding area.

After shooting the Martin, I did a little exploring of the hangers and the abandoned prop planes in the nearby field. These old planes sit in a line as if they are waiting to take their next flight. Its actually kind of sad to see these old planes scrapped and waiting to when their usefulness is gone.

About the Image

This image was shot on a warm summer afternoon in June of 2013 with my old Canon PowerShot ELPH 100 HS. I then edited the image in Adobe Lightroom and post processed with Topaz Clarity to bring in more texture, detail, and play with the lighting. I then converted the color results to black and white using Topaz B&W.
