The Invasion Car Show is an event that happens every Labor Day Weekend in Deep Ellum, Dallas, Texas hosted by the THEM! TX Car Club. For years, the show has been held on Elm Street from 10:00 AM and ends around 6:00 PM. If its to hot, the cars and crowds start thinning out around 4:00 PM. Later in the evening, Trees and several other clubs will have after parties with live Rockabilly bands through out the night.
The Show is a pre 1964 traditional rods and kustoms event. The show features bad ass kustoms, rats and other hot rods. In additional to the rides, there is great food from the local bars/restaurants/food trucks, live rockabilly bands, and more.
If you like old cars, rat rods, led sleds, or just like the Rockabilly lifestyle this is a great event to check out. I go almost every year. Check out some of the images from some of the earlier shows.
2018 Invasion Car Show
The 2018 Invasion Car Show was a hot one. My photographer friend and I were only able stay for the first two and half hours before it got too hot for us. We spent most of the time separated and doing our own thing and checked only in passing each other.
This year I found there to be less cars in the morning but as the day went on more cars arrived. The cars and trucks ranged from rat rods and low riders to fully restored show cars. The vendors this year were also limited and there wasn’t a live band playing at the time we were there.
About the Images
For this event I used three different lenses and shot by hand. For this set of images, I used my Sony a6000 and a Sony E PZ 16-55mm lens. I then edited images with Adobe Lightroom, Photoshop and NIK Collection. The below images are just a few of the Images I have had the chance to edit. More pictures will be posted in the coming weeks.
