How to Turn Off Auto Show/Hide for Your Left/Right Side Panels in Adobe Lightroom

One of the more annoying things about Lightroom that drove me crazy was the auto show/hide side panels. I quickly learned to shut off this feature. I found that the editing process went just a little bit smoother.

There are two ways to turn off the Auto Show/Hide for the left/right side panels in Lightroom. One way is to right click on the edge of the each panel and turn it off. I figured out this setting within a few hours of using Lightroom and always keep the auto hide disabled.

As for the other way to turn auto hide off, its to use keyboard shortcut keys. I only recently learn about this tip and it’s a lot faster to use the keyboard shortcuts to auto the side panels than to right click them.

In Scott Kelby’s article 10 Things I Would Tell a New Lightroom User #8How Turn Off Auto Show/Hide for Your Left/Right Side Panels, he goes into detail on how to do the keyboard shortcuts and where  to right click to turn off auto hide.
