Two weekends ago was the 2016 Invasion Car Show and I was able to get there early and stay for a few hours. I normally only stay about an hour so but, this year the weather was in the 90s instead of the 100+ range. So I stayed as long as could before I had to leave for another event. I ended up walking up and down the several blocks of old cars five or six times and checked the opening band before having to leave.

What was the 2016 Invasion Car Show

The Invasion Car Show is an event that happens every Labor Day Weekend in Deep Ellum, Dallas, Texas hosted by the THEM! TX Car Club. For the last few years, the show has been held on Elm Street from 10:00 AM and ends around 6:00 PM. If its to hot, the cars and crowds start thinning out around 4:00 PM. Later in the evening, Trees and several other clubs will through after parties with live Rockabilly bands through out the night.

The Show is a pre 1964 traditional rods and kustoms event. The show features bad ass kustoms, rats and other hot rods. In additional to the rides, there is great food from the local bars/restaurants/food trucks, live rockabilly bands, and more.

About the Images

Below are 10 images from the 2016 Invasion Car Show and next week I will 10 more images and continue that trend until have posted all of my favorite images from that show. All  shots were taken by hand when the sun was almost directly over head. I used an old Nikon D5000 and Nikkor 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6G VR. The images were edited in Adobe Lightroom. Next, I post processed with Topaz Clarity and Google Nik Collection to add texture, brighten, and bring out the details in the images.
